What is Life Coaching?

You know how athletes have coaches? A gymnastics coach, a track and field coach, a figure skating coach… A coach both encourages and pushes the athlete, to help them reach their full potential and give their best to the game or competition.
Similarly, a Life Coach both encourages and pushes you. A Life Coach’s desire is to help you reach your potential in your personal life, so you can meet life goals.
Many times people hire a Life Coach because they feel stuck in their life. They want to do, be, or have something, but they can’t figure out how to take their goals and dreams from a wish to a reality.
Unfortunately, it’s possible to lose sight of who we are and what we want when we’ve been stuck for a long period of time.
Sometimes we forget what is possible for us.
A Life Coach can help you do the following:
- Lay out a good overview of where you are in your life right now
- Envision where you would rather be in your life
- Uncover what is holding you back from living your best life
- Zone in on your daily habits – both the good and the bad!
- Create a road map to say goodbye to the bad habits and create new, helpful habits
- Help you get started down the path of the life you want to be living
It has to do with habit change.
Our habits rule our lives whether we realize it or not. My goal as a Coach is to help you change the habits that are causing many of the problems you are dealing with. Once we start changing out the old habits for new habits, you may find your horizons opening up in a way you didn’t realize was possible.
Our mindset is a big deal, too.
Our mindset is really a giant habit. And it controls everything.
Our mindset can have a massive impact on our stress life. We want to address whether that is a positive or negative impact, because our mindset plays such a huge role in our health, relationships, career, finances, and a host of other things.
So all that to say…there’s a lot that goes into coaching!
